We will have over 50 crafters booths inside and another 30 live crafters outside in our front parking lot. Start your holiday shopping early with handmade items from local crafters. Visit the Sharing Den of Rewild Maine on Sheridan Street in Portland. We'll be demonstrating basket weaving using invasive bittersweet vines and other materials, and showcasing a variety of small-scale place-based living skills, like processing acorns into flour and tanning raw animal hides into leather.

Meet some of the artists at the Lighthouse Gallery. Jeff Longar will be demonstrating wood carving and wood boat half hull making at 11:00 a.m. and Lisa Oettinger will show how she makes her bead jewelry at 1:00 p.m. Demonstrations of Watercolor and Acrylic painting on furniture will take place throughout the day. Plus two local authors will be autographing and talking about their latest books: Roger Greene on his book about the Northern Maine Woods "In the Company of Trees" and Jane Harvey Meade on her book "Narrownook", based in Bucksport. Enjoy the work of 60 artists throughout the gallery!
Nantucket Basket artist Marlene Greenlaw will be demonstrating the fine art of weaving in the Nantucket Lightship basket style. Don't miss this wonderful event, see how this historical tradition continues, to make assorted containers with or without bales, and with or without lids. Bracelets too!

This autumn exhibition at Maine Craft Portland features handmade chef knives, damascus steel hammers, forged steel lamps, cookware & beyond – all masterfully made to last for generations. Nick Rossi, Jason Morrissey and Nick Wicks, all uniquely skilled in their craft and each an accomplished Maine craftsman, all approach working with steel in distinct and creative methods. This unique opportunity to view their collective work on exhibition is conveniently located in Portland’s arts district.
Maine Craft Portland is a retail gallery + resource center in the historic Mechanics Hall downtown Portland, Maine. The gallery promotes craft in Maine through exhibitions and public programming and directly benefits Maine craft artists through sales of their work. Maine Craft Portland opened in July 2018 and exhibits and sells the work of over 200 MCA member craft artists.

Shop Maine Craft presents Geometrics, a Center for Maine Craft exhibition of modern string art by Heather Kelly of South Portland, Maine.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world and sacred geometry, artist Heather Kelly has taken the old craft of string art and elevated it into a modern and captivating body of work. From the intricate design of a sunflower’s center to the spiral of a pinecone, she is drawn to the connection we have to patterns found in the natural world, the cosmos, and in our bodies. Made with reclaimed barn boards, painted patterns, nails, and adornments of intricately woven thread and wire, Heather Kelly’s solo exhibition of geometric wall art is on view at the Center for Maine Craft through Sunday, October 2, 2022.
The Center for Maine Craft is a retail gallery presenting and promoting over 300 artist-members of the Maine Crafts Association. One of two unique retail locations operated by Shop Maine Craft, the Center displays fine handcrafted objects ranging from traditional to contemporary; from thoughtful home goods to collectors items. Open year-round, the Center is uniquely located in the West Gardiner service plaza and serves as the welcome visitor center of Central Maine.

Markings Gallery is pleased to join the MCA Studio Tour Weekend this year! We represent over 50 Maine artisans and you will be able to visit a few in the gallery, talking about their work with some demonstrating parts of their techniques. You can ask questions of them and watch while in the process of creating their pieces. The gallery will be featuring them from 10:30 AM to 5 PM on Saturday, October 1, and from 10:30 AM to 4 PM on Sunday, October 2.

Join us for the 9th annual Fiber Day at the Bath Freight Shed. Local fiber artists will be weaving, spinning, knitting, hand sewing, felting, and doing rope work, much like that used in Virginia's rigging. See techniques both modern and dating from the 17th century. Some artists will offer hands-on opportunities as well as demonstrations.
This is our 5th annual Penquis Valley HS Craft Fair (we missed 2 years due to COVID). Local craft and food artisans, artists, and authors, along with school clubs and community non-profits offer a variety of item. There is also a basket raffle and lunch options available. Jeanne Seronde Perkins will be selling her collages in 3D: paper mache stars + other creatures embellished w/ hand painted papers. Karen Ressel of The Flowered Apron will be selling aprons, potholders and baby cloths. Karen's bakery will be open and fully stocked with delicious baked goods. I will be at the Maine Craft Weekend to demonstrate different types of basket weaving using a mold, without a mold and using a wooden base. Visitors may try weaving on the demonstration baskets or a small ornament. I will also have baskets for sale both outside and in the Gallery Store. I will be there from 10:00 am to 1:00PM each day.

Galleria Gardella is full of Robin's fine art and whimsical sculptures that reflect the Northwoods as well as coastal Maine. There is also a section where families can create their own art. Immerse yourself in a realm of ingenuity and artistry, where each piece is a testament to our dedication to creativity and precision. Loveline Baskets are made to be used and enjoyed daily, combining aesthetic appeal with practical functionality.
AP Curiosities is a joyful collection of ceramics and jewelry, lovingly hand-crafted by Brooke Knippa. Spring, summer, and autumn inspiration coalesce into her collection offered during this pop-up. She will have a variety of her signature ceramics (mostly mugs alongside some tumblers and bud vases) with creatures nestled into nooks as well as a small trove of wearables.
Ellipsem Jewelry is high-quality handmade jewelry designed to be worn and lived in for many years. It explores dimensionality and rests between function and sculptural form. Its designs are often textured and geometric, hammered and curved, and always made to be worn. The Ellipsem Jewelry studio is currently located in Dover New Hampshire.
Mixed media artistry, incorporating natural dyes, botanical prints, handmade paints and inks, natural fibers, hand stitching and local found objects. Joining us will be pop-up artists displaying hand forged metal work, turned wooden bowls and unique hand made lamps designed from found and vintage materials. The arts and crafts will be displayed in our historic 1810 barn gallery, working studio and workshop. Demonstrations on solar dying techniques using local plant and garden materials grown on the farm will be on going.
