The Penquis Valley HS craft fair is a fundraiser event featuring handcrafted craft artisans to support student activities including supplies for the annual Day of Service when students & staff give back to the community.

Bare Bones Handsewn a family owned and operated shoe manufacturer is participating in Maine Craft Weekend.
The first weekend of October we will open our shop to the public, and share our love of shoes, and leathercraft with all our visitors. Come see traditional talents craft leather into shoes and other handsome accoutrements.

Kim Bernard will open her studio and PopUpCycler the weekend, sharing her upcycled sculpture, wares and wearables: aprons, messenger bags, totes, yoga bags, pouches, napkins, hats, earrings and waxed food wrappers... all made out of local recycled materials. Kim will also demonstrate how her plastic recycling machines work. Bring a #2 milk, water or juice jug and transform it into sculpture yourself.
Join Bobbie in her studio for a weaving demonstration, shopping and breathtaking views of the St. George River. Bobbie is a tapestry weaver who blurs the boundaries between weaving and sculpture. Her merino wool wall hangings boast bold colors and abstract forms. While in the studio, shop from a selection of looms, fibers and wall hangings...or sign up for a workshop! The studio will be open Saturday, October 1 from 10:00 to 2:00 and by appointment on Sunday.

Join us for our annual Open House & Art Market. We will be set up on Saturday and Sunday with 4 of our fellow local artists. Join us in the historic Percy & Small shipyard and meet our volunteer blacksmiths and woodcarvers and see them demonstrate their trades. Then swing by the Boatshop to take a look at the craft of traditional boatbuilding. Lunch is also available on site at the Sail Shed by Long Reach Kitchen & Catering.

James Macdonald, an artist, luthier, and musician based in Burnham, Maine, builds electric solid body guitars featuring hand cut marquetry art. The Chocolate Church Gallery is featuring his remarkable work along with our retail space where other artists are featured.
Come to the great neighborhood of Kittery Foreside to visit The Red Door Pottery Studio historic building where Elaine Fuller has been making pots for 15 years. Her Studio Assistant Hilary Rousselle will offer clay work demos. Their unique pottery will be on display and for sale. Refreshments will be provided. The seconds sale will benefit the local food pantry.

Sew-Clusion Retreats, LLC is open year-round to creative artists and crafters; offering relaxing atmosphere and inspirational surroundings to pamper your creativity with other like-minded friends. Join award-winning quilt artist and owner Patty Sawyer on a personal in-home tour of her workshop and retreat space, participate in her interactive demos of creative quilting techniques, or join two inspirational workshops. This year's Maine Craft Weekend coincides with PorFiber's 9-Year anniversary! We are looking forward to celebrating with Maine makers Katherine Ferrier of Threadwrite, Wade Stephens of Husk, and Rachel Bingham Kessler of 44 Clovers. Katherine is a poet, dancer, maker, teacher, curator, and community organizer. She will be here with her patchwork clothing and accessories and will be writing typewriter poems on the spot that might just make you weep. Wade is a textile artist with a heavy focus on wool. Inspired by color, texture, and natural forms, they will be showcasing their felted handbags and accessories. Rachel is a plant dye educator, writer, sewist, and painter with a degree in Art Education. She works annually, sourcing Maine fleeces to be spun into yarn, which she then dyes with natural, local plants and other natural dyes. Come squish these beauties and celebrate all things fiber with us!
No Repeats Fiberworks, Jo Eaton, will be demonstrating handspinning and crocheting of her one of a kind hats. You will have the opportunity to try your hand at spinning and crocheting as well. A wide variety of hats, from simple beanies, to very warm handspun to her designer landscape hats will be available. Patterns and yarns are available for some of the hats.
Stop in to see creativity in action! Mill Studio Arts is a kid-centered art studio located on the bottom floor of the historic Pepperell Mill in Biddeford, Maine. Come see what it's like to paint, draw, build and sculpt in a fun filled maker space for kids of all ages. We will be offering drop in building and creation labs for kids and families along with guided tours of the studio during Maine Craft Weekend. There's a lot going on and we can't wait to share it all with you!

For $15 you can make a pair of earrings (with Tonya’s help if you need it) that you can keep for yourself or give as a gift. Beads, paper discs, findings and tools will be available for you to create a one-of-a-kind pair of earrings.
Join us for our annual Oktoberfest and enjoy small batch craft beers and cheeses at Turning Page Farm Brewery. We will have a band playing German Polka music. Owner and head brewer Tim will definitely be sporting his lederhosen, as he serves us his special Oktoberfest beer for this event! Soft Pretzels, bratwurst sandwiches, beer and small batch craft cheeses are all on the menu. Did we mention the goats?
