Open Studio | Demonstrations | Work for Sale
HOURS: Saturday 10-4, Sunday 11-3

Visit Delany Arts and check out the beautiful transformation of Winslow Station, Yarmouth’s historic firehouse into a working studio with space for workshops, classes, and Amanda Mitchell’s personal art studio. Delany Arts will also be hosting visiting artist Brooke Hoerner of AP Curiosities from Bowdoinham. Amanda and Brooke will be doing demonstrations (wheel throwing, hand building, and surface design technique), as well as selling work, including functional and sculptural pottery, ceramic and copper jewelry, and 2D artwork. If weather permits the garage studio door will be open!

Glassblowing Pumpkin Patch & Fine Craft Ellsworth HUB!
HOURS: Saturday & Sunday, 10 – 4pm

Ken and Linda Perrin delight in demonstrating their glassblowing craft to the public and creating a hub of fine arts activities during Heart of Ellsworth’s Maine Craft Weekend !

Along with the pottery, weaving, and jewelry demonstrations you can watch the Atlantic Art Glass team create blown glass pumpkins. The studio of Atlantic Art Glass will be turned into a “glass pumpkin patch” as the molten glass is pulled from the furnace, blown and hand formed on the end of a blowpipe. The glass pumpkin patch charms visitors of all ages.

All artisans plan to fill the gallery with autumn inspired work for sale.

As an added treat, our downstairs neighbors, Fogtown Brewing Company will be open for craft beer tastings.

Joining us for the weekend:

Emi Ito, Weaver from Bath, Maine: “Transporting my unique Saori loom to the Atlantic Art Glass warehouse in Ellsworth. I will join other artists in the celebration of Maine Craft Weekend. I look forward to doing demonstrations of various fun weaving techniques as well as have some of my scarves and shawls for sale.”

Kristi Frank, an intuitive abstract artist, using the highest environmental standards, creates jewelry with distinctive silhouettes. She owns Salt Grass Jewelry in South Portland, ME and will be coming up to Ellsworth to join the festivities. She will be doing metalsmithing demonstrations. And have her work available for sale!

Kreg McCune Pottery, from Mt. Desert Island is a potter, he will be offering pottery wheel demonstrations for the public on Saturday. Kreg will provide opportunities for visitors to experience and create on the potter’s wheel and learn more about the process of creating fine ceramics from start to finish. Kreg McCune Pottery will have work available for purchase and over the course of the weekend will be creating a set of hand thrown mugs for Fogtown Brewery! (Saturday only.)

Huggy Bear Glassware, from Mount Desert Island will bring his trusty torch to the festivities, and do glass lamp working demonstrations.

Kate Russell Henry is a hand spinner of wool, mohair, angora, silk, flax and many vegetable fibers. These linear fibers full of texture, color and shape, find their way to crochet sculptures and woven items. She also collects old, found and purchased papers to create assemblages. New work includes mixed media pieces.

Join us at Glass Festival 2019 and learn all about stained glass, fusing and torchwork. We will be hosting free demonstrations all day on new products, tools and techniques used in stained glass. Take a class in how to make keychains with beads of your own design, autumn fused plates or shiny stained glass jewels! All classes are just $22 each – or take all three for $60. Refreshments will be served throughout the day. Afterwards, the public is invited to our champagne reception from 4 – 6 PM, featuring a tasty assortment of pastries. At this event, we will announce our winner of this year’s Amazing Glass Challenge! Come on out for a creative, fun and educational day and take home a beautiful creation of your own!

You are welcome to visit my studio, upstairs above my husband’s woodworking shop, in our 1850’s barn, one half mile from downtown Belfast. It is where I make a living producing my Willy Wires jewelry, white line woodblock prints and miniature paintings. I will be explaining and demonstrating the white line printmaking method throughout the weekend, and will be displaying artwork and jewelry for sale.
