Maine Wood Turning and Carving Show @ Monkitree

Woodcarvers from the Greater New England Area and beyond participate in the 2023 Show with carvings that are judged and receive awards according to the carving level and quality. Theawards will be given at 3 PM. There will be carving classes to take and demonstrations to watch. Carving vendors will be there including tools that can be purchased and the carvings are displayed for viewing until about 4 pm. Food is available for purchase at the Lions Club.
Katherine Kollman of Out of My Head Designs will be at Monkitree with extended inventory of her brainy designs for radiant people, including new designs- pillows, jewelry, hats, hair sticks and more! Stop in during Swine and Stein and say hello.

Gardiner’s Swine & Stein Brewfest features all day samples from some of Maine’s best breweries, wineries and distilleries in an open air beer garden along historic downtown Water Street. Organized by Gardiner Main Street, this annual fall beer festival also includes a full line up of great music, tasty food vendors, fun games and activities all day long.

From barrel aged beers to award winning rum, you’ll enjoy brews and blends not always found at the store, for a true handcrafted, small batch experience. To tantalize all taste buds, hard cider, wine and craft spirits will also be on tap. Enjoy local favorites like Bateau Brewing, and Chadwick's Craft Spirits, as well as established and emerging brewers from across the state – as they pour their best brews. Taste the day away with all day sampling – no beer tickets needed!
A PARTY IN THE STREET
We’re partnering with Johnson Hall to create an outstanding music lineup of Maine’s best and emerging bands.
Crowd pleasing quirky games will include favorites and new additions. For the 8th year, participants will groom, style, and dress their facial hair in the hope of being named “best in show” in the crowd favorite Beard and Mustache Competition.
The intense Rock Paper Scissors Championship, Corn Hole, Giant Jenga and a Frozen T-shirt Race and a Pass The Pigs tournament!
DON’T FORGET THE PORK!
An array of food trucks and local restaurants will be serving up incredible pork varieties, along with other creative dishes to tantalize your taste buds.
Proceeds from Swine and Stein Brewfest support Gardiner Main Street’s mission to grow and sustain our historic downtown while celebrating our unique cultural heritage.

Gardiner wood turner, Glen Glazier will share his passion for wood turning while demonstrating techniques of turning small bowls, pens and handles.
Glen will be located inside the Swine and Stein event, in front of Monkitree. A percentage of his sales will go to Maine Veteran Woodturners.
Demos are scheduled for 12, 2 and 3pm.
Let's celebrate Fall! For this class you'll be painting three barn board pumpkins. We'll supply all the materials required, you will add your own spice, creating pieces to decorate your home with or give as a gift. Space is limited. Light refreshments offered, BYOB event. Please follow most up to date CDC guidelines.
