Bare Bones Handsewn, a traditional handsewn shoe making factory will open their doors for the weekend. Providing workshop tours and shoe making demonstrations. The Bare Bones Handsewn makers market will be set up for moccasin purchases and offer the opportunity to place custom design or fit orders. We will have make-and-take custom jewelry making and leather cuff demonstrations. As well as a local artisan pop-up market featuring a few of our favorite makers.

A group of Bar Harbor artists and makers are coming together for a Pop Up Market as part of Maine Craft Weekend. Ann Jenkins will be selling a collection of sterling and mixed media jewelry. Mary Lyman will be selling her handmade BFF Dolls. Suzanne Norgang of The Wretched Briar will be selling her handfelted wool hats. Jeanne Seronde Perkins will be selling her collages in 3D: paper mache stars + other creatures embellished w/ hand painted papers. Karen Ressel of The Flowered Apron will be selling aprons, potholders and baby cloths. Karen's bakery will be open and fully stocked with delicious baked goods. Lucy Tracy will be selling cards and pine balsam bags. The Pop up Market will be open Saturday 10/7/2023 from 10am-3pm. Bakeshop opens at 8am. Rain date Sunday 10/27/23

Celebrate Maine Craft Weekend at Handworks Gallery in Blue Hill

Handworks Gallery will be hosting a pop-up trunk show featuring the jewelry by Janelle Delicata on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 10 am to 4 pm as part of the Maine Crafts Weekend.

The gallery’s collection includes works of more than 100 local and Maine artists. Many are Maine Crafts Association members. Handworks is located in the center of the village of Blue Hill at 48 Main Street.

Celebrate the wonderful craft traditions of local makers during the Maine Crafts Weekend. This event takes place every October and showcases the work of Maine craftspeople and craft brewers!

Artists, Autumn Cipala and Christine Peters invite you to an open studio on Saturday, October 7, 10:00–4:00 at 15 Ross Ave, Thomaston ME. The doors to Autumn’s pottery studio will be open with handmade works by both artists on display and available for purchase.

Autumn Cipala creates luminous porcelain vessels with a truth to function. Soft, translucent glazes enhance the clean elegance of form and highlight fine details of surface embellishment.

Christine Peters will be visiting from her jewelry studio in Edgecomb, and exhibiting her sterling silver and gold, one of a kind jewelry. Christine has been creating jewelry since 1996 and uses her sculpture background to create these nature inspired art pieces.

The artists invite you to come see their newest artwork, shop for one of a kind pieces, and talk about the inspirations, processes, and techniques used to create each piece by hand.

Join artisans from this region for the fourth annual Maker’s Market in front of the Historic Bath Custom House on Sunday, October 6th from 11-3 pm. Hand sewn leather bags, paintings, pottery, handwoven textiles, artisan soap, and more. Come enjoy the music and treats and get some early holiday shopping done.
