Kim Bernard will open her studio and PopUpCycler the weekend, sharing her upcycled sculpture, wares and wearables: aprons, messenger bags, totes, yoga bags, pouches, napkins, hats, earrings and waxed food wrappers... all made out of local recycled materials. Kim will also demonstrate how her plastic recycling machines work. Bring a #2 milk, water or juice jug and transform it into sculpture yourself.

The Red Door Pottery Studio Open House Sales and Demos

The Red Door Pottery Studio 44 Government Street, Kittery, ME

Come to the great neighborhood of Kittery Foreside to visit The Red Door Pottery Studio historic building where Elaine Fuller has been making pots for 15 years. Her Studio Assistant Hilary Rousselle will offer clay work demos. Their unique pottery will be on display and for sale. Refreshments will be provided. The seconds sale will benefit the local food pantry.

Fleece to Hats: Handspinning to Crocheting Warm Designer Hats

No Repeats Fiberworks, Jo Eaton, will be demonstrating handspinning and crocheting of her one of a kind hats. You will have the opportunity to try your hand at spinning and crocheting as well. A wide variety of hats, from simple beanies, to very warm handspun to her designer landscape hats will be available. Patterns and yarns are available for some of the hats.

Zero Emissions Roasting Demo @ Precipice Coffee

Precipice Coffee 56 Dean St, Ellsworth, ME

Join Maggie and Bill Iannuzzi at Precipice Coffee for a demonstration of the unique roast process on their zero emissions Bellwether Coffee Roaster - the first of its kind in Maine. In addition to sourcing organic and fair-trade beans, the coffee at Precipice is produced with zero carbon emissions and is sold in eco-friendly packaging. They will also show you how to make a Pumpkin Spice Latte featuring local Maine pie pumpkin puree. Other coffee and tea beverages as well as home baked goods will be available. Roasting demonstration starts at 2pm.

‘Give it a go’ throwing clay on a potter’s wheel at Monson Pottery / Gascoine Gallery

10am - 12pm demonstrations of how to throw mugs on a potter's wheel, then the opportunity to 'have a go' throwing one too.

10am - 5pm 'Tree Talk' exhibition in the Gascoine Gallery on the 2nd floor. Sixteen different fine artists and craftsman are showing work on the theme of 'trees'. The artists include former Monson Arts residents and Maine Crafts Association members.
