Our Artisan Village consists of four cottages that houses talented regional and state artisans who have been selected by a jury to display their creations. Our artists are encouraged to provide demonstrations of their art.
Each year on the first weekend in October, Visit Freeport brings together over 150 of the best New England artists, makers and local food producers for a three-day festival throughout Downtown Freeport.
In addition to browsing local art, join us at the Discovery Stage on the L.L.Bean campus for three days of live music. And, thanks to our generous sponsors, it’s all FREE!
Friday, October 1 from noon - 6 pm
Saturday, October 2 from 10 am - 6 pm
Sunday, October 3 from 10 am - 4 pm
Please note: While we hope that the 2021 Festival will be held with few modifications, we will be watching State of Maine and CDC recommendations closely and make any decisions about activities with public health as our number one concern.
Join us for a fall celebration of Maine craft! Featuring demonstrations, studio and workshop tours, music and great food. Visit our tiny farm and seaweed shop and discover how wonderful and tasty seaweed is. We'll have lots of yummy seaweed treats for you to sample- savory and sweet. Seaweed adds a deep umami flavor to dishes and Dulse in particular pairs very well with chocolate. Our soaps and shampoo bars will be for sale as well as other Maine seaweed products. Get inspired to cook with seaweed, enjoy our flowers and farm chickens and be inspired with plastic free and zero waste swaps. The Schoodic Acadia area is a great road trip destination.
Visit the new working Studio/School of Lisa & Scott Cylinder in Fort Andross in Brunswick. Affectionately called "the Wedge" because of its unusual shape, they will present examples of their work and share their story of being collaborators making mixed-media jewelry and objects for 33+ years together. Learn about the Workshops and Classes that they offer, as well as the rich history of their workings in the Craft Show and Gallery world. Work will be available for sale and masks will be required to enter the building. 11am - 4pm Saturday & Sunday.
DIRECTIONS: From the parking lot, enter the LEFT SET of green double doors below the "Cabot Mill" sign, go down the stairs and to the end of the hallway. At the end of the hallway, make a right and go all of the way until you reach an open space. From there, go up the WOODEN ramp slightly to the right. "The Wedge" is the first door on your left (this space is just beyond Lisa & Scott's former studio).
