Art Gallery/Teaching Studio, demonstrations of soldering and small scale forging at 1:00 and 2:00 on Saturday and Sunday in our teaching space. Opening on Saturday from 3-5 for our fall exhibition: Ollie Solmitz, current work. We invite you to visit our teaching studio and gallery space showing the work of a small group of local Maine artists in a variety of mediums. Explore our class offerings and original artwork in our beautiful new space. Work in the gallery includes jewelry, ceramics, encaustic, iron work, hooked rugs, painting, photography, sculpture and mixed media.

We invite you to come and take a tour of our wood shop on Saturday and Sunday October 1st and 2nd for Maine Craft Weekend. We will have wood turning and wood carving demonstrations going on from 10am until 4pm each day. Kim will be doing wood turning demonstrations and Steven and Justina Hatch from Eagle-Wolf Trail Wood Carving, Turning and Crafts will be joining Kim to do some wood carving demonstrations each day. Jed Malcore from Malcore Woodturning will be joining us this year as well.We will be giving tours of our shop. Ever wonder how a salad bowl is actually made or how it feels to carve that beard on a Santa carving? Stop on by and see for yourself. The foliage should be close to peak in our area, so combine your fall foliage tour with our shop tour. We do have a wonderful view along with a fabulous shop. Come and see all that we have to offer. Parris House Wool Works is located in the beautiful Paris Hill National Historic District of the Western Lakes & Mountains Region of Maine. You can find us at the 200 year old historic Parris House at 546 Paris Hill Road, Paris and we will be open both days to introduce you to the heritage craft of North American wool-on-linen rug hooking! Join us for refreshments, demonstrations, lessons in rug hooking, and a studio filled with everything you need for the craft, including hooks, frames, original patterns, and wool, as well as assorted finished decor pieces to purchase. You will also be able to buy a raffle chance on a 3’x5′ hooked rug to benefit the Maine Medical Center Kidney Transplant Program; drawing November 5th. Feel free to walk the historic village while you’re here! Walking tour maps will be available.
