Ken and Linda Perrin invite you into their glassblowing hot shop for a visit to celebrate Maine Craft Weekend!

They and their team of glass blowers will create blown glass right before your very eyes. As a special treat you will meet the talented and hard working Jacquelyn Jenson, who is the 2016 Maine Craft Apprentice Program recipient. Get a sneak peak at her delightful blown glass work as she finalizes her seven month apprenticeship with master glass blower, Linda Perrin.

For a festive twist on the day of celebrating craft, the studio of Atlantic Art Glass will be turned into a glass pumpkin patch as molten glass is gathered out of the furnace, blown and hand formed into pumpkins on the end of a blowpipe. The warmth of the fiery arts, the gallery bedecked with fall color, and the making of a blown glass pumpkins charms visitors of all ages.

Landscape Quilt Design at Fabricate: Open demo sessions throughout Maine Craft Weekend will show you how to envision and design art quilts that represent the scenic outdoors. Bring a favorite photo or use your imagination–Nessa Reifsnyder will give you ideas, inspiration and guidance towards making your own landscape artwork. Plus, a free Bar Harbor landscape pattern to all visitors! Fabricate is a year-round “island of inspiration” for quilters, scrapbookers, artists, cardmakers, beaders, and needlecrafters. Inside this warm and welcoming space, you’ll find hundreds of 100% cotton fabrics in a rainbow of colors and styles; 12×12 scrapbooking papers in beautiful patterns and themes; and the embellishments and notions you need to get your projects done right. The shop holds an array of buttons, beads, ribbons, yarns, embroidery flosses and kits, stickers, and art supplies. Nature themes and vintage designs find ample space, along with vivid batiks and seasonal products. And works by 20 Maine crafters are always on display, adorning the walls and railings.
